The Purpose of a Rose Show -
Why have a Rose Show?
To teach how to present roses at their best.
To show the many types of roses, including
new varieties.
To help educate members and the public about roses, cultivation, and which
roses can be grown in Colorado.
To introduce the public to the value of the Pikes Peak Rose Society and
The American Rose Society.
To provide a venue for fun and camaraderie involving roses – the sharing of
similar interests and activities with other rose lovers.
To provide an opportunity for anyone to exhibit their prize garden rose(s).
This is your time to show your pride in growing stellar roses!
To provide a chance to win a prize or just to be pleased to have participated.
To help members in developing leadership qualities, patience, and
teamwork skills.
And to highlight our appreciation for our national Flower.
In 1986, President Ronald Reagan granted the title of
The National Floral Emblem of the United States of America:
    The Rose
